Can Professional Cleaning Remove Pet Urine Odour?
Professional treatment can substantially improve pet urine odour when the source can be located and reached. Results become less predictable when contamination has passed into backing, padding or subfloor.

Why urine odour can return
Urine can travel beyond the visible spot. Moisture and humidity may reactivate residues below the carpet surface, making an odour noticeable again after it seemed to disappear.
What an assessment considers
- Number and size of accident areas
- Whether accidents were repeated in the same location
- Carpet fibre, backing and padding
- Products previously applied
- Whether the subfloor or other materials may be affected
Neutralizing is not masking
A fragrance may cover an odour temporarily. Source-focused treatment aims to reach and neutralize accessible contamination rather than simply adding scent.
Realistic expectations
Complete removal cannot be guaranteed when the source is deep or inaccessible. In severe cases, replacing contaminated underpad or addressing the subfloor may be necessary.
