Carpet care guide
How Often Should Carpet Be Professionally Cleaned?
There is no single schedule for every property. The right interval depends on occupants, pets, outdoor soil, carpet colour and fibre, ventilation, traffic and manufacturer guidance.

Carpet may need cleaning more often when
- Pets or young children use the rooms
- Entryways and hallways receive heavy traffic
- Occupants have sensitivities to dust or dander
- Light-coloured carpet shows soil quickly
- A rental property is changing occupants
- A workplace receives regular customer traffic
Do not wait only for visible soil
Dry soil can settle below the visible surface and contribute to abrasive wear. Regular vacuuming is the first line of maintenance; professional cleaning addresses soil and residues routine vacuuming leaves behind.
Use condition, not a rigid calendar
Inspect traffic lanes, entrances, stairs and frequently used seating areas. Your carpet warranty or manufacturer may also specify maintenance intervals and approved methods.
A practical local plan
Ask for a recommendation based on the rooms, occupants and actual condition. High-use areas can be prioritized without treating every room identically.
